How we work

Research Methodology

How AssetsNest turns source documents, market data and real transactions into decision-useful investment articles.

1. Start with the decision

Each article begins with one falsifiable thesis and the downside question an investor actually faces. We identify the return engine, first-loss mechanism, liquidity path and governing document before collecting supporting facts.

2. Follow a source hierarchy

Regulations, circulars, exchange filings, prospectuses, audited reports and legal decisions carry the factual layer. Institutional research can establish market scale or context. Provider case studies are useful for mechanics, but their claims remain labelled reported rather than independently confirmed.

3. Reconstruct the economics

Analysis separates cash flow, fees, leverage, seniority, dilution, liquidity, valuation and time. Return figures are reconciled to dated cash flows where possible. For private assets, a mark is treated as an estimate until an exit converts it to cash.

4. Test a named case

A case file is included to show where the framework meets reality: a merger, winding-up, funding round, court decision, asset sale or regulatory change. The purpose is not storytelling decoration; it is to expose which assumptions held and which failed.

5. Date the India layer

SEBI, RBI, AMFI, exchange and IFSCA materials are checked for time-sensitive Indian content. The article states its review date and links to the original document. Readers should still verify the latest position for an actual legal, tax or investment decision.
